BROMLEY VETS AC

BVAC 5-mile cross country race, Saturday 7 March 2009

We held a 5-mile cross country race at Sparrows Den on Saturday 7 March as part of our 20th anniversary celebrations in aid of the charity WheelPower at Stoke Mandeville. There were 69 entries, an excellent effort. The weather was fine and sunny. The course was firm in the fields but wet and muddy in places in the woods. Few teams were 'declared' at the outset and we'll probably adopt a different approach to any team prize next year. The winners of all the prizes were:

First female: Viv Mitchell (Blackheath & Bromley Harriers)
Second female: Angela Cork (Blackheath & Bromley Harriers)
First male: Chris Busailen (Herne Hill Harriers)
Second male: Mike Cummings (Herne Hill Harriers)
Oldest female finisher: Maureen Farish (Bromley Veterans AC)
Oldest male finisher: Brian Fincham (Bromley Veterans AC)
First female Bromley Veteran: Anne Unseld
First male Bromley Veteran: Mike Turner
Team prize: Viv Mitchell, Angela Cork, Amanda Taylor
