Kent Championships
A few BVAC members took part in the Kent County championships during
September.
Chris Marshall took the 800m gold in the M60 category, beating off
his nemesis, Blackheath's Peter Hamilton, who recorded the same time of 2:37.24
in the tightest of finishes.
Second claim member Rob Brown came out with a gold and a silver. At
M60, he was first in the 400m (63.3) and second in the 100m (13.93).
Ray Chapman won gold in the M50 category for 1500m with
5:09.11.
Southern Veterans League - 2010 Both mens and ladies teams competed
in their respective second divisions of the Southern Counties Veterans Athletic
Club league (Kent Divisions) this season.
The season takes place over the
Summer on Monday(3)/ Friday(3) eves, starting this year at 6.45pm and ending
around 9.15pm.
The men won their division and the women came second in their
division. If things remain the same that means promotion back to Division One
for both teams next season. Well done to all those who took part in any of the
meetings.
It was necessary to change the venue for the
meeting on 14 June as the stadium at Gillingham was not available - it
switched to Ashford.
